Good Grief

The Reverend Jacob Bradner is mad as a hornet and he’s not sure why. But when death comes knocking, he has to make some tough decisions. In his never-ending snit, Pastor Jake alienates everyone, including church leaders. He knows he’s deeply distraught over the sudden death three years earlier of his wife of 30 years, the love of his life, his soul mate. But he also knows there is more to it. Slogging through his mental quagmire, he sometimes thinks he’s going crazy. As Jake overflows with frustration and anger, he goes from fit to fat, and changes from a caring shepherd to a crotchety old man. Jake is transferred back to his hometown, which he detests, and gets off to a shaky start. No one knows if he can survive the mess he’s making. Jake continues, out of control, until his brush with death snaps him back to reality.
