My Problem with the Truth

Poetry. Chris Anderson is a professor of English at Oregon State University and author or co-author of nine previous books, including Edge Effects (Iowa, 1993), a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. This is his first book of poetry. Poet Madeline DeFrees says about Chris’ book: “The poet’s gift for metaphor and language is so remarkable that there is no ‘problem with the truth’ in the identities he sees all around him.” Poet Paul Mariani says that Chris’ poems “reveal the fruit of long meditation on the things of this world, but a work rinsed, cleansed of the scrim of our egos, made luminous, singing as on the first day of creation.”
