This is a riveting story of a young black woman named Denise. It tells of the hard times Denise faced after the death of her mother and father. A request from Denise’s father, before his death, led her in search of her father’s family in Tennessee. While visiting her family, she discovers the roots in her family tree lead to Lewis Pratt. He was once the sheriff of this small town and the man who turns out to be Denise’s white grandfather.
