The Political Economy of Poverty, Equity, and Growth: Five Small Open Economies

This work explores the economies of Hong Kong, Mauritius, Singapore, Malta, and Jamaica. The authors examine various aspects of the economies–from historical background to income distribution, from labor relations to capital formation. After a brief introduction containing background and
notes on methodology, the book focuses on each individual country. These are followed by a comparative study which compares growth patterns, strategies for industrialization, and the role of natural resources.
