Whispers in the Woods

Shhh–there are whispers in the woodland. Crackles in the wind. Soon it will be nighttime-the dark is coming in. Bear and cub cuddle up; baby bear shuts his sleepy eyes. Listen to the wolves; they’re singing lullabies. The mice are very busy plumping up their nests; soon they’ll be done and ready for their rest. Hungry squirrels enjoy a bedtime snack; listen to them crunch and crack. But, the bats are waking up-they’ve slept all through the day. Is it dark enough yet for them to fly away? It is quiet. It is late. Good night, sleep tight-it’s bedtime for the animals and little boys and girls, too!
