This up-to-date and informative CD-ROM provides a unique collection of documents about the career and Congressional work of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, who is the first First Lady to be elected to the U.S. Senate (November 2000). Material on this CD-ROM includes speeches, policy statements, and news releases. Comprehensive sets of roll call votes in the U.S. Senate from the 107th and the 108th Congress are included, providing a record of the vote of Senator Clinton on critical issues. These roll call vote tallies are the official records as compiled by the Senate Bill Clerk under the direction of the Secretary of the Senate, as recorded on the U.S. Senate database. There is a comprehensive reproduction of Congressional Record entries and logs of bills sponsored or co-sponsored by Senator Clinton. Three “snapshots” of Clinton Administration websites provide extensive illustrated coverage of the activities of the First Lady, with speech transcripts and public project activities. The first website – archived by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), is from November 1995; the second site is from August 1999, and the third site is the final version at the end of the Clinton Presidency in January 2001. In all, the disc has over 57,000 pages reproduced using Adobe Acrobat PDF software – allowing direct viewing on Windows and Apple Macintosh systems. Reader software is included on the CD. In addition to the PDF files, we also present several folders of original image and HTML source files for news and speeches, along with two short audio files from the first Clinton White House website (a greeting from Hillary Rodham Clinton, and the sounds of Socks the Cat).
