Provides an annotated listing of 97 articles, books, and book chapters written in English since Starosciak’s (1968) and Sublette’s (1981) authoritative bibliographies of Salinger. Focuses on works that promote insightful discussion of Salinger’s oeuvre rather than such material as newspaper articles about Salinger that focus on issues such as privacy and legal battles, although a few personal articles, including the memoir written by an ex-lover and the biography by Salinger’s daughter, are included. Entries are arranged in chronological order by year, and alphabetically by author. A regrettable number of editing lapses and spelling errors are present in the text. Annotation c.
