Antelope Fuzzies and Molested Moments is a collection of poems that reflect the fractured feelings and distorted thoughts of an abused and neglected human being trying to piece together a bearable reality. Uncensored and unforgiving, this open display of human emotions portrays the truth. The truths of pain, desire, love, hate, denial, and finally, a matured acceptance of life and what it does and does not have to offer. This first attempt at greatness is honest in its struggle to become not what is expected, but to become what is natural. To be the person you choose to be—the person you are meant to be—even if it doesn’t comply with family assumptions or society’s norms. A journey that starts with a quiet child afraid to speak up, to an adult screaming to be heard and believed. These expressions of passive aggressive optimism were inspired by the idea that there is always a tomorrow.
