Buick Muscle Cars 1963-1973

This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, new model introductions, long term reports, design analysis and technical data. Models covered include Skylark Special and Gran Sport, Wildcat, Electra 225, LeSabre, Riviera Gran Sport and 455 Stage I, Gs 350, 400, 400 Stage 1, California, 455 Stage 1, Gsx 455, 455 Stage I, Centurion and Century Regal. Amongst the wide range of Buick cars built during this period there were some muscle cars included for the enthusiast. These were the cars that added glamour to the Buick name. From being front-runners in the late 1960s, emissions controls and tightening safety regulations gradually emasculated these cars in the early 1970s. The oil crisis of 1973-74 finally killed off the muscle car genre altogether.
