The stories in this book are based on true events and typified the lives and times of the laboring class of Chinese immigrants and their descendents who lived in Chinatown over half a century ago. There are many diverse stories gathered in this book. Each story is told as if it was held between the reader and the author in a get-together for coffee and social conversation.
