Cholera Bulletin

A graphic and immediate record of the response of New York City and its medical men to the catastrophe of a major cholera epidemic. The Cholera Bulletin was published thrice-weekly during the height of the epidemic and records not only the efforts of the city to provide medical care and charitable aid to the unemployed, to bury the dead and improve sanitation, but also brings to light the nature of medical thought at the time. This is a rare and important document of interest to the urban historian and student of social welfare as well as to those more particularly concerned with medicine and medical care.
