Witness – an attempt to make the text the place of the minds of these men and my own an attempt to be as close as words can be to the experience of encountering thinking; an attempt at becoming the reader of the thoughts that became my own; an attempt to discuss written communication during the act of communicating; a wish that ideas considered scientific and ideas considered literary or poetic could be thought about in their structural similarities; a desire to understand the thinking of Albert Einstein and Samuel Beckett and Edwin Schlossberg.
