Florence Nightingale Today: Healing, Leadership, Global Action

Utilizing Nightingale’s personal history, writings, and philosophy, authors Dossey, Selanders (nursing, Michigan State University), Beck (Nightingale Initiative for Global Health), and Attewell (The Florence Nightingale Museum, UK) look to revitalize the nursing profession in light of the current international crisis in health care. The first three parts of this book each focus on one of Nightingale’s healing, leadership, and global action. Using an interpretive biographical approach, the text intertwines primary sources and life stories to give significance and relevance to Nightingale’s legacy.
