Gaia Spectroscopy, Science and Technology

GAIA is a mission within the European Space Administration’s scientific program Cosmic Vision 2020, and projected to be launched in middle 2010. It will measure in detail properties of the brightest one billion stars. The 48 papers consider the project as a whole; technology; the galaxy and stars; stellar atmospheres, classifications, and databases; radial and rotational velocities and stellar pulsations; double and binary stars; and ground-bases and space surveys.
