One hundred and thirty-eight reproductions of the wood engravings and 13 reproductions of preliminary sketches by the English wood engraver George Mackley. A foreword and 5 brief articles by Mr. Mackley and 5 others are followed by a survey of his works divided into general “Botanical Engravings,” “Engravings of the Sea,” “Countryside Engravings,” “Engravings of Waterways,” “The Netherlands,” “Engravings of Rivers,” and “Commercial Engravings” the smallest section .
