The interviews published on the pages following were undertaken at the request of Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod, the director of Paganiniana Publications and the Musical Heritage Review. Undoubtedly, Dr. Axelrod invited me to write a book by and about pianists because of the duality which has characterized my my commitment to the concert stage and my work as a teacher of concert artists.
