Kids in Their Communities

The concept of community is a cornerstone both of the elementary social studies curriculum and of a child’s developing understanding of how they fit into their world. This series tells your readers what it’s like to live in different types of communities from the perspective of a peer. The featured child in each book takes readers on a tour of his or her community — where the child lives, where he or she goes to school, and things kids do for fun.
