Left For Dead

As he watched the woman’s limp body being pushed from the bluff above into the brush at his level, haunting memories of Diane’s lifeless body lying at his feet in a pool of her own blood filled him with nausea. But this woman was still alive-barely. Dare he get involved with her? Dare he risk revealing himself to a stranger, putting his own freedom-maybe even his life-into danger for a woman he didn’t even know, a woman who probably deserved everything she’d gotten? He was not a nurse. Even with his help it was doubtful she would survive. Yet, for the sake of his own sanity, he could do nothing less than carry her back to his cabin hide-away and pray he was not making the biggest mistake of his life.
