This research traces the history of the evolution of Marguerite Yourcenar’s creative imagination and its expression in novel and short story form from her early, experimental novellas through the historical novels of the mature artist. This study concentrates on Yourcenar’s artistic achievement and essentially reveals the development of the self-conscious style of the French author.
