Medical Transcription

Blanche Ettinger (Bronx Community College) and Alice Ettinger (pediatric hematology-oncology, Saint Peter’s University Hospital) have updated this second edition of a workbook for students who wish to become transcriptionists and medical language specialists to align with the AAMT Book of Style Second Edition. Early chapters provide foundation material for success as a medical transcriptionist, and later chapters allow students to develop transcription skills in the context of specific specialties. Each specialty chapter overviews the structure, function, and conditions associated with the specialty, then provides vocabulary, proofreading, and transcription exercises.
