Mestizaje in Ibero-America

Draws on a wide variety of historical, ethnographic, demographic, and biological sources to analyze processes of intermarriage, assimilation, and acculturation that continue in Latin America to the present day. As one of only a few studies to examine this subject, it sheds new light on miscegenation and their different levels and proportions in particular periods and in rural and urban areas; and the role of Spanish, Indian, and African women in the historical process of biological fusion.
