Milda Has No Regrets: 81 Years and Counting

My memoirs cover episodes from April 10, 1925, when I was born in Chicago, Illinois, through 2006. It is a true memoir. Stories in my life cover having an illegal pint of alcohol hidden in my diaper as revenue men searched my grandpa’s house looking for illegally manufactured alcohol. My mama came from Latvia at the age of three and grew up to be a flapper. My dad was a hardworking immigrant from Latvia who came to America in 1911 in his twenties. There are stories about the challenges of growing up with my older sister, born a cretin. I was determined to be a single career woman; however, that changed when, in 1947, a handsome young man changed my thinking. Woven in these pages is our story of eternal love, our lives and those of our family.
