Mormons believe the Bible and the latter-day scriptures, The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price, to be the word of God. This volume, Mormon Essays – “Experiment Upon My Words” is a selection of quotes from latter-day scriptures that have a particular relevance to our lives today. D. James Cannon took literally the challenge to experiment upon the words of the Lord. Each week he selected a scripture based on personal need, study, and prayer. The essay accompanying each scriptural quote in this book is the result of his “experiment” in living by the scripture for that week.
