On the Wings of a Dove: An African Missionary Odyssey

From humble beginnings on an isolated and idyllic farm in southern Iowa, the author traces his passage from farm boy to missionary extraordinaire in the remote yet equally idyllic villages in what was then French West Africa. This missionary saga recounts the events of the childhood and youth of Grant and Wilma Moore and their adventures as missionaries in Guinea, West Africa. Then follow accounts of their experiences after being forced, along with all the other missionaries in the country, to leave the field prematurely. Included are their exciting visits to Guinea in succeeding years where their son Tom and daughter-in-law Sherry are still serving admirably. Their adaptation to the African culture was both uniquely challenging and exhilarating, accompanied by both the joys and heartaches associated with giving birth to the church among those principally Islamic peoples.
