One Life’s Dream

One Life’s Dream is an inspiring story that offers insight into one young life at the turn of the 20th century. It provides a passionate, meaningful look at the dreams and experiences that continue to flourish from generation to generation. It also gives an historical perspective of an emerging identity within the Italian-American community. This story traces the life and times of Cecilia Signorelli DiOrio, from her beginnings in Sessa Aurunca, Italy, to her settlement in Brooklyn, New York, and Providence, Rhode Island. This book examines the guiding role of Italian-American women, as well as their strength and determination to hold their families and communities together. One Life’s Dream traces Cecilia’s leadership abilities through various societal changes during her life and explains the influences of those changes on her development.
