Raw Nerves

Cape Cod’s prominent psychiatrist, Dr. Sophie Green, has problems. She’s a phobic worrier, a hypochondriac and a binge eater who quells her conflicts with leftovers. Her husband, Dan, is her polar opposite. He is of sound mind and svelte body. Now for once, Dr. Green has an unimagined terror. One of her patients wants her dead. There’s Charlie, a man with obsessive-compulsive disorder. He lives with his mother. With Dr. Green’s encouragement, he begins life on his own. But then his mother dies. Hence, Charlie believes Sophie is ultimately responsible for her death. Another patient, Elizabeth, has a battering husband who blames Sophie for Elizabeth’s newfound ability to stop tolerating abuse. Gracie is a patient who’s involved with a menacingly brilliant psychiatrist. He’s married. He would lose his license and his family if Sophie reports him. In the end, the person behind the murder threats is a surprise to everyone.
