By putting pictures with stories I hoped to create not only an architectural guide but provide a glimpse into Sebastopol’s past. I was guided by what has come to be known as The Peterson Survey. Santa Rosa architect, Dan Peterson surveyed Western Sonoma County including Sebastopol in 1978 for historical structures with the help of the Western Sonoma County Historical Society. For whatever reason, a number of vintage homes were omitted from the survey. I have attempted to include those with whatever information I could find about them, at least in a list of notable homes because they have historical significance. . .
