Shakey & Me

Sherwood (Shakey) Johnson founded the Successful chain of Shakey’s Pizza Parlors in 1954 in Sacramento, California. He became the Pizza King of the US and then gave it all up to “just have fun”–which meant promoting Dixieland Jazz and becoming the first “Emperor of Jazz” in 1973 at the world’s largest Traditional Jazz Jubilee in his hometown of Sacramento. Author Burt Wilson, life-long friend, confidant and advertising agent and PR man for Shakey’s recalls all the hilarious incidents and funny stories which made Shakey a legend in his own time.
