A narrative history of two young married peasants from the small village of Valledolmo in Sicily. Faced with impoverishment, drought, disease, high taxes and illiteracy, first Rosolino and then Antonina “Lena” with their baby Mary ventured with several of their paesani to America, the “land of opportunity.” After a few years of settling in, they found a home in Fredonia, New York where they raised ten wonderful and healthy children. The lives of the Borzilleri Family through the Twentieth Century may be typical of many other immigrant families, but the love they have shown each other and their successes in life make their stories worth telling. This book is a humble attempt to chronicle and share their life stories so they remain for their progeny and offspring as vibrant and fascinating as they were when they were alive.
