The Case of the Missing Locket

Abbie, Girl Spy is a new series of books for middle readers. The first installment, The Case of the Missing Locket chronicles the latest case of the Abbie, Girl Spy detective agency. When Abbie’s crime fighting partner of two years moves to Memphis, she must find another person to fill the void. She chooses Kirk, even though he’s a boy. This particular mystery centers around a dream that Abbie has about a girl from long ago who is searching for a missing locket. The case takes Abbie and Kirk on quite an adventure as they pull all of the puzzle pieces to gether to solve the mystery.
About the Author
Darren J. Butler (Author) has been directing, acting, writing and designing for the past twelve years. He has authored and directed numerous stage adaptations such as Beauty and the Beast, The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, Alice In Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, A Christmas Carol and many more. His original writings include Angel By My Side, Rites of Passage, The Lost Princess and Neverland, a sequel to James Barrie’s Peter Pan. Mr. Butler has written, directed and produced two half hour television series, Rites of Passage and Kid’s Club, for a local ABC affiliate. Future stage projects include Runaway Home and a prequel to The Miracle Worker about the life of “Annie Sullivan”. The play is entitled, Out of Darkness.
Mr. Butler serves as the Resident Director of the summer production of The Miracle Worker at Ivy Green, the Birthplace of Helen Keller. In addition to his theatre and his writing, Mr. Butler has also been an enrichment teacher at a talented and gifted elementary school.
In addition to this book, Onstage will also have in stock the audio recording for The Case of the Missing Locket, which was produced like an old “radio play” complete with a cast of voices, sound effects and background music. The next Abbie, Girl Spy book will be released on September 1st. Mr. Butler has two additional books that will be released in the fall: Angel By My Side and Beneath Two Moons.
