A young girl struggles with the hardships of being born in the middle of political instability and tribal clashes in a poor Third World country. The saga touches on the life of a little girl raised by strict parents. The early years of an institutionalized child in Kenya quickly turn into a whirlwind of harsh struggle and mistrust as she matures into a young woman, narrating her harrowing journey across Europe as an immigrant; the hardships she must endure and overcome; and finally returning home to keep a promise she made, but returns six years too late.
