Who is that darling baby in the Vitality Vegetarian Foods TV commercials? Her name is Darby Joylander, and her family owns the company. Now she’s 13 and a bit resentful about being exploited for her publicity value. In fact, she’s in a panic. A certain CD is missing, one that contains her Powerpoint documentary with a fake “history” of VVF. It could cause tons of trouble for lots of people. Who stole it?

To the rescue: Justin “Jelly-face” Case and his detective-writer dad. The family has come to South Dakota so Mom can receive the Vitality Vegetarian Foods Volunteer Queen award. But Mom has a secret burden she won’t share, something crazy she has to do at the awards banquet.
