The Messenger That I Sent is the story of a fight against Holocaust denial. It contains over 1200 messages that were posted on a computer network. The book is what the denier’s claimed they wanted: an open debate on the Holocaust. Four deniers argued with forty verifiers, while tempers raged and truth struggled to prevail. The leader of the resistance was Stephanie Brumlik. Her tactics were to catch the deniers in self-contradiction and to use original Nazi documents to destroy their assertions. Her work is a study not only of the Holocaust, but of propaganda, debate strategy and scholarship
