The Twelve Adventurers and Other Stories

Written by Charlotte Brontë between the ages of twelve and twenty-one, these stories feature poetry, a short play, her first known love story, the occasional appearance of real historical figures, and the fantastical kingdom of Angria that was the setting of so much of the Brontë siblings’ early fiction. This collection of juvenilia was first published in 1925, long after her death, and is the first time that most of these stories appeared publicly.
