Transition to a Global Society

This is a collection of essays drawn from the proceedings of the First International Dialogue on Transition to a Global Society, held at the Landegg Academy in Swizerland. Two of the issues raised which are discussed in this book asked which models should be used to design the structure of a united world, and whether the vitality that results from cultural diversity could be maintained on our interdependent planet, where a truly global society draws closer everyday? The text further explores the roles and responsibilities of the public and private sectors, science and technology, culture, ethics, religion and the arts in the transition to a global society.
