Uncharted Journey

The Native American culture believes that a child is born with a spirit that will guide them through life. Gloria was born at home. At the time of her birth, an eagle appeared outside the bedroom window. It was a sign that she would have the spirit of an eagle. Born in Pittsburgh in 1945, she grew up in an era where she saw the successful minorities booking numbers, running “after hours” joints, and gambling houses. She was determined that she would succeed as a businesswoman, operating a legitimate business. She was na¯ve. As she journeys through life, she works for the mafia and falls victim to government fraud and corruption. She loses her business, her children and nearly her life. Thinking she can escape, she moves a thousand miles away to Sarasota, Fla. But the eagle spirit in her will not allow her to remain dormant.
